Evolution of Consciousness

I somehow find myself attracted to Shiva and Shakti lately. It first came up when I was reflecting about the way my life has shed a layer of itself as I knew it and is now sprouting new buds and seeing fresh branches extend from the maturing trees I planted who knows how long ago. Shiva and Shakti came up again when I was writing a post about meditation in which I shared with you a mantra that I find very powerful. Today I have come across it again through my exploration of the various aspects of the Third Eye.

The January 19 2009 entry on the A Light in the Darkness blog talks about “The Eye of Shiva” (a.k.a. Third Eye Chakra) in which it explains that in order to have a fully functioning Third Eye Chakra, three elements (on the physical and etheric planes) must activate and be able to function harmoniously. The required balance in the relationship of these three elements is almost breathtaking in its perfection. Read on to see what I mean…

In order for the Third Eye to be fully functioning, the Ego must fully immerse into the physical body. When a Soul is just beginning its evolutionary path, the Ego first makes contact with the physical body through the top of the head (where you would find the Crown Chakra). Once the Soul has evolved into a sufficiently conscious state, the process of immersion continues until the Ego absorbs into the area of the pituitary gland. (Keep in mind that this process of immersion takes place with each new life when Spirit enters into a new body each time it returns to a physical existence.)

The state of a Soul’s consciousness dictates not only how deeply the Ego can immerse into the physical being, but this also impacts the physical senses of the body. The more evolved the Soul, the higher the sensitivity and receptivity of the being. In other words, the higher the consciousness, the higher the receptivity to higher and more subtle vibrations. (This is explained further in the blog entry I mention above.) But the point to understand here is that once the Ego is able to immerse deep enough that it makes contact with the pituitary gland, the evolution of consciousness can progress into fundamental levels.

“As these three types of energy, or the vibration of these three centers, begin to contact each other, a definite interplay is set up. This triple interplay forms in time a vortex or center of force, which finds its place in the center of the forehead, and takes eventually the semblance of an eye looking out between the other two. It is the eye of the inner vision, and he who has opened it can direct and control the energy of matter, see all things in the Eternal Now, and therefore be in touch with causes more than with effects, read the Akashic records, and see clairvoyantly.”

The day is everyday and any day is today. One day is all that exists. Each day we live the same day and see differently. The same morning, the same air, the same time ticking away into the same worries and doubts. Time is man made and man is made of time. Today you may think that the sun was warm and tomorrow the sky too wet, yet it is the same day each day, seen through eyes of a different observer.

When we see, we think of the meanings. When we think, we create stories. When we doubt, we question our imagination and once our heart is scared enough that it closes, the colors fade and the lights dim and the day becomes night. Do you feel like you’re in the dark?

Sitting in a room with no lights, it’s easy to see black. Slowly, your eyes open wider from the inside and you begin to see that the dark is as colorful as the day. Each day is light and each day is dark. Each day we see varying levels of colors and shadows that make up new experiences and bring us into new levels of the rainbow.

Each day is the same. We live the same day each day through different eyes, eyes that open wider from the inside. Do you believe in rainbows when you look into the sky after a spring storm and can almost reach out and touch the arch of color smeared across the clouds? Can you feel the moment in the middle of the day when you experienced yesterday and the day before and you walk by it today and feel it coming again tomorrow? Each day is the same day, and all that changes is our choice of how we want to see it.

What do you do when you feel that yesterday is today and tomorrow was now? How can you walk by the opportunity tomorrow that came to you so suddenly yesterday and not wait impatiently for it to be revealed? Feeling is not knowing and believing is wishing. Feeling is being in the moment when tomorrow is today and yesterday was now. How can you be afraid of not knowing when you already have the answer? The simplest is the answer you won’t see because you want it to be in tomorrow.

Primordial Sound Meditation

Chopra CenterThe Intention Meditation is a wonderful guided meditation from Deepra Chopra’s website. It speaks of Inner Power – that it is available to us whenever we remember about it, and that all we have to do is quiet our external self and listen to the internal wisdom of the inner Self. Gratitude is also a great focus of this meditation. We are gently reminded that we have a choice – do we hold onto grievances, or do we choose to let them free?

Power of Intention – focusing our attention…and our intention.

The meditation is about 15 minutes long, and includes a few minutes of introduction. The gentle chimes/gongs are phenomenally clearing, cleansing and tuning. One of the great pleasures I get from this meditation is experiencing the vibrations that emanate out of my computer when it plays! Even if you don’t want to go into a deep trance and dedicate yourself to a full on meditation session, I find it a beautiful experience in and of itself to simply listen…

At a certain point, you are asked to repeat your personal mantra. If you don’t have one that comes to mind, you can simply repeat Om (Aum) to yourself, or if you’d like, you can try the one that I’ve been using – Om Namah Shivaya pronounced Aum Num-ha Shi-why or Aum Num-ha Shi-vaya.

May Peace Flow Through You
